In December, 2013 Cardinal Logistics was contracted by Buffalo Hospital Supply (BHS) to handle the delivery of medical supplies throughout NY State and Northern, PA. Due to a particularly rough winter in the Buffalo/Upstate, NY area, the first few months showed example after example of drivers doing whatever was needed to get the job done.

Tireless hours were worked to make sure that, short of an act of God, there were no missed deliveries. Time progressed through the spring and as the weather leveled out, so did the operation. At this point, the 24 hour account has begun to hum along, under the watchful eye of Ops Supervisor Eric Zenicki. However, CC664 is now moving on to its next phase. After months of preparation, permits and paperwork, Cardinal is getting ready to implement the last part of their operational plan for BHS.

This coming September, Cardinal Logistics will begin running double 48’ trailers on the NY State Thruway. This is to ensure a more efficient service to our customer, with the use of less resources. The process of obtaining permits, equipment and drivers to operate tandem 48’s in NY State is a daunting task that required a significant amount of information related to our company, drivers and equipment. After almost 10 months of back and forth with NY State, CC664 is proud to be the first account within Cardinal to be running equipment in this configuration.

On top of being able to offer better customer service to BHS, we hope to open the door to more business requiring the doubles permitting which we have already obtained.
