CARDINAL PARTNERS WITH MOARK

Cardinal Partners with Moark, LLC to Feed Maine

Cardinal is known for serving our community, so it was a no-brainer when our customer Moark, LLC decided to donate almost 30,000 eggs to Good Shepherd Food Bank in Auburn, Maine and asked Cardinal to help them make that happen. Good Shepherd Food Bank is part of the Feeding America network, the largest hunger relief organization in the US and has been “Feeding Maine” since 1981.

Moark was pleased to be making a donation and Cardinal Operations Manager, Bob Ham was there to support the effort by providing the transportation services. The collaborative effort between Cardinal and Moark, provided Maine’s people with 23,400 dozen eggs. According to Kristen Miale, President of the food bank, “Over 23,000 dozen eggs were distributed amongst 350 partner pantries and 200 agencies.”

Availability of other protein sources such as meat, fish and poultry is scarce due to strict handling guidelines. Eggs are one of the purest forms of protein, protein that is critical to the health and well being of Maine’s most at risk people. Moark and Cardinal were happy to be able to help fill this void.

“We are very pleased that Cardinal supported our Easter donation of extra large brown eggs free of charge,” commented Skip Hagy, Moark’s General Manager.

“It was a pleasure to be a part of this event and to showcase Cardinal as a community partner,” said Bob Ham, “The Good Shepherd Food Bank is an amazing organization that continues to be proactive in communities across Maine. It helps everyone to be supportive.”
